These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and NxtRound ("we", "us"), an independent, free interview-practice service operated by an individual developer at nxtroundai.com. They apply when you accept them — at signup or when upgrading a guest session to an account — and to your use of the guest practice experience.

1. What NxtRound is

NxtRound is an AI-powered interview-practice tool. It provides:

• Behavioral interview practice with AI feedback (STAR method)
• System-design practice with feedback on your architecture and decisions
• Real-time transcription of your spoken answers (in your browser)
• Progress tracking and session history
• Role-specific practice based on job descriptions you provide

NxtRound is a practice tool, not a promise. We do not guarantee interview success, job offers, or any particular outcome. AI feedback can be wrong; treat it as a practice aid, not professional career advice.

NxtRound is currently free to use. If we ever introduce paid features, we will announce them clearly in advance — nothing you use for free today will silently start charging you.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Registration information you provide must be accurate.
• Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately at privacy@nxtroundai.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

You can create an account with email/password or with Google. Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.

3. Your content

You own everything you create here: your answers, transcripts, job descriptions, notes, and diagrams ("your content").

So that the service can function, you give us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to store your content, process it, and transmit it to our AI provider — solely to operate NxtRound for you. This license ends for content you delete, and entirely when you delete your account.

4. AI processing and third-party services

NxtRound is built on the following services:

• Google Gemini API (paid tier): generates your feedback. Google does not use content sent through it to train its AI models.
• Firebase (Google): authentication, database, and hosting.
• Web Speech API: transcribes your voice in your browser.
• Google Analytics: usage statistics — only if you opt in via the cookie banner.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory
• Violate others' intellectual-property or privacy rights
• Attempt to hack, overload, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service
• Use bots or automated tools to access or scrape the service
• Share your account or misrepresent who you are
• Resell or commercially exploit the service without our permission

We apply rate limits and abuse protections to keep the service free and available for everyone.

6. Availability and changes to the service

NxtRound is a free, solo-operated project. We work to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise uninterrupted availability, and we may add, change, or discontinue features — with reasonable notice for anything significant. The service is provided "as is" and "as available".

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights — including how to download or permanently delete your data yourself from Settings. Accepting these Terms does not waive any privacy right you have under applicable law.

8. Termination

By you: delete your account anytime in Settings. This permanently removes your account and all associated data, immediately.

By us: we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraud or abuse. If we terminate your account, your data is deleted the same way as a self-service deletion, except records we need to prevent repeat abuse (see the Privacy Policy's retention section).

9. Intellectual property

We own the NxtRound platform: the software, design, branding, and feedback methodology. You own your content (section 3). AI-generated feedback on your answers is yours to use for your own interview preparation.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: NxtRound is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including lost opportunities, lost profits, or data loss — arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, and nothing limits mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or UK, you additionally keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country you live in, and disputes may be brought before your local courts where the law gives you that right.

12. Changes to these Terms

When we change these Terms, we update the version number and date at the top. For material changes we will notify registered users by email or an in-app notice before the change takes effect, and ask you to accept the new version where the law requires it. We will never treat your silence or continued use as agreement to a material change.
